A new baby was born with the antibodies to fight the new coronavirus after the baby’s mother was infected with COVID-19, Sky News reports.

What’s going on?

Mother Céline Ng-Chan gave birth to her new baby in Singapore after contracting the novel coronavirus.

She said her family contracted the coronavirus while on vacation in Europe in March. She and her 2-year-old daughter went to the hospital with COVID-19. She said she was not worried about her unborn son being infected with the virus, according to Straits Times.

When his baby was born, doctors found he had COVID-19 antibodies.

  • “It’s very interesting,” Ng-Chan told The Straits Times. “His pediatrician said my COVID-19 antibodies were gone but Aldrin had COVID-19 antibodies.”
