Speaking with Elisabeth rosenthal, editor-in-chief of Kaiser Health News, Fauci has made it clear that he is not suggesting a national lockdown. “There are some essential businesses that you want to keep open. You want to keep the grocery stores open, the supermarkets open, what people need for their livelihoods,” he said. “You could, if done right, keep some non-essential businesses open, you know, things like clothing stores, department stores.” At the same time, there are other businesses that he would not frequent as coronavirus cases continue to rise.
