429 new cases of COVID-19 and 8 deaths

The Santa Barbara County Public Health Department (PHD) reported 429 new cases of COVID-19 and 8 deaths on Wednesday.

Six people were over 70 and two were between 30 and 49. Five of the people had underlying medical conditions and three of the deaths were associated with an outbreak at a collective facility. The regions of residence include five from the city of Santa Maria and one each from the city of Goleta, the unincorporated northern county and the city of Santa Barbara.

There are now 2,007 active cases in the county, including 167 hospitalizations with 55 intensive care unit (ICU) patients.

The critical care availability for the Southern California and Santa Barbara County area is 0%.

Cottage Health reports 20% capacity available for adult intensive care with 85 isolated patients showing symptoms of COVID-19, of whom 81 are confirmed positive for COVID-19.

Ventura County reported 1,520 new cases and 8 additional deaths between the ages of 47 and 102 on Wednesday. They have 420 hospitalizations, including 81 in intensive care.

San Luis Obispo County on Wednesday reported 290 new cases with 2,835 active cases, including 39 hospitalizations including 14 in the ICU.
