50 years for the man who raped the neighbor, then offered work in the yard

WEST PALM BEACH, Florida – A 20-year-old girl convicted of raping her neighbor and then working with her to catch up with her is sentenced to 50 years in prison.

West Palm Beach jurors found Timothy Walding guilty of sexual violence, unlawful imprisonment and armed robbery in October. On Monday, a judge sentenced him to a mandatory minimum sentence of 50 years.

Prosecutors say Walding broke into her 35-year-old neighbor in October 2017 and sexually assaulted her for 90 minutes. She said that she was tied up and threatened with a knife.

The SunSentinel reports that he proposed to do landscaping or fix something around the house, which she refused. Prosecutors say that he asked her not to tell what happened and they shook hands. When he left, she called 911.
