Almost all counties in the state are now considered to be at very high risk for the spread of COVID-19, according to the latest figures released by the Alabama Department of Public Health.

Fifty-nine of Alabama’s 67 counties are now listed as “red” or very high risk, which means the number of COVID cases in those counties remains the same or is increasing. Five counties – Bullock, Cleburne, Perry, Pickens and Sumter – remain green, which means low risk. Choctaw is at moderate risk, which means that the number of cases there has decreased for 7 to 13 days. Marengo and Lamar are orange, which means high risk and a decline in cases from 1 to 6 days.

Alabama has reported a total of 565,510 COVID cases with 1,567 added on the last day. The state recorded 11,468 coronavirus deaths, adding 6 overnight. The state has added 9,907 coronavirus cases in the past 14 days with 602 hospitalizations in progress.
