LOS ANGELES (KABC) – Los Angeles County Health Authorities confirmed Thursday a seventh case of measles in the county.

According to the County Public Health Department, this case is linked to the outbreak of four cases reported last month, but it is not associated with measles exposures at UCLA and Cal State L.A.

No public exhibition venue is associated with this case.

This is the seventh resident of L.A. County to contract measles this year.

Five people with the disease crossed the county. Nationally, over 700 cases were reported this year in 22 states, the highest number in 25 years.

Hundreds of students and staff were quarantined last week after potential exposure to UCLA and Cal State L.A.

County supervisors say that some people choose not to be vaccinated by using a flaw in the law that allows them or their children to give up a doctor.

The City of Los Angeles has issued a measles warning to workers at the Los Angeles International Airport for the spring break season.
