8 new deaths from El Paso virus – including man in his 30s, nearly 500 more infections

EL PASO, Texas – El Paso health officials reported eight new coronavirus deaths, including a man in his 30s, on Saturday morning and 493 more cases.

The last fatal victims included:

  • 1 man in his thirties
  • 1 man in his fifties
  • 1 woman in her sixties
  • 1 man in his sixties
  • 1 man in his 70s
  • 1 woman in the 80s
  • 1 man in the 80s
  • 1 man in his 90s

The number of active infections among residents of El Paso was 35,473 on Saturday. The total number of cases reported since the start of the pandemic is 113,145.

As of Saturday morning, 427 patients from El Paso hospitals were being treated for a Covid-related illness, including 166 in intensive care and 97 on ventilators.

Health officials have listed 75,398 residents of El Paso County as having recovered from Covid-19 to date, which is 66.6%, although doctors warn some of those recovered will continue to suffer long-term health consequences of being infected.
