89 additional COVID-19 hospitalizations reported, zero deaths

MADISON, Wisconsin (WMTV) – Although it reached two bleak milestones on Saturday – more than 3,000 deaths and 350,000 positive COVID-19 cases – the Wisconsin Department of Health Services recorded zero deaths and the fewest positive cases on Sunday observed in the past three weeks.

According to the DHS dashboard, 3,507 positive cases were recorded on Sunday. This is the first time since November 2 that a number of one-day cases has fallen below 4,000. Sunday’s figures bring the total number of positive cases to 354,676.

Of the 14,899 additional people tested on Sunday, 11,392 were negative for the virus.

According to DHS, a total of 2,439,928 tests have been performed statewide.

Hospitalizations are approaching 16,000. As of Sunday, a total of 15,823 patients had been hospitalized for COVID-19, up from 89 compared to Saturday.

With zero deaths reported, the total number of deaths remains at 3,005.

As of Sunday, 276,574 people recovered from the virus while 75,035 cases are still active.
