Whoopi Goldberg, co-presenter of "The View", called members of Congress who omitted an event paying tribute to the victims of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.
House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other members of Congress observed a minute of silence earlier in the day to mark the 18th anniversary of the tragic events, but the outspoken Goldberg was not satisfied participation rate.

"Not everyone honors the moments of silence, apparently only 26% of members of the House showed up for the moment of silence on the Capitol steps this morning," said Goldberg after a conversation about the public school students paying tribute to the victims.
Co-host Meghan McCain described the lack of "shameful" attendance, but Goldberg had not finished explaining why it is crucial to remember the victims of 9/11 for all Americans.
"We do not know why they were not there, but maybe it was not a good day to go around the optics. I'm just saying it's a moment that has affected everyone in this country. Not just New Yorkers. They came to America, "said Goldberg. "They hit us here first, then went elsewhere to try to shoot us. It has affected many more people than us, and it is an American problem. "
Goldberg told members of the House that each of them should have been present at the moment of silence.

"Every one of you should be out there, honoring what you do not have to do, that's what he did," Goldberg said.
Morning ceremonies were also held on Wednesday at Ground Zero, the Pentagon and the 93 National Flight Memorial, near Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
