Nine Michigan companies have been fined for breaking COVID-19 safety rules and endangering workers, state officials said.

Here are the nine companies, including the amount of fines and the consequences of violations.

Specialists in automatic minority management

Location: Woodhaven

Nice amount: $ 3,000

Violations:

  • Lack of adequate training regarding the risks, the steps taken to protect employees, including site specific measures, and how employees can protect themselves.
  • Do not regularly clean all frequently touched surfaces.
  • Failure to provide paper towels to workers and visitors to wash their hands.
  • Do not maintain hand sanitizer.

Tawas Bay Beach Resort (Bayside Hospitality)

Location: East Tawas

Nice amount: $ 1,500

Violations:

  • Lack of preparedness and intervention plan.
  • Do not train employees on COVID-19.
  • Assume and not ask if non-masked clients were not medically able to tolerate a mask.
  • Do not keep everyone on the premises six feet from each other.
  • “The employer was also cited for a non-serious record keeping violation.”

Violations:

  • Lack of preparedness and intervention plan.
  • Failure to conduct a daily self-examination protocol for all employees or contractors entering the workplace.
  • Do not keep everyone in the workplace at least six feet from each other if possible.
  • Not requiring face covers when social distancing could not be maintained.
  • Failing to train employees on the steps employees should take to notify the business or operation of any symptoms of COVID-19 or of a suspected or confirmed employee diagnosis of COVID-19 under COVID-19.
  • Failure to keep a record of required COVID-19 training and daily health exams.
  • Do not display signs at store entrances for customers.
  • Assuming clients not wearing masks had a medical condition.
