Scientists have claimed that a Mars meteorite had shown signs of life in fossilized bacteria.
Experts using advanced imaging techniques have discovered microfilaments created on meteorites by fossilized Martian microbes, officially known as ALH-77005.
The study, published in Open Astronomy, comes from Dr. Ildiko Gyollai of the Research Center of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (HAS) for Astronomy and Earth Sciences.
His team used light microscopy and infrared technology to analyze the textures and characteristics of the late ALH-77005 sample.
The textures and features left by the organizations call "biosignatures".
The researchers also studied the minerals and other materials contained in the stone and performed isotope tests to verify whether chemical compounds were necessary for survival.
They concluded that microscopic filaments could be evidence of bacterial survival by eating iron dust.
The authors of the study stated in this article: "Comparing recent results and interpretation with other meteorites, we can say that, on these similarities, microbial-mediated biosignatures can be proposed by microbial mediation by : [iron oxidizing bacteria] on Mars."
Signs of life
However, this is not the first time this revelation is claimed.
In 1996, NASA reported finding similar signs of life on a different space rock that had landed on Earth 13,000 years ago and was produced by Mars at least four billion years ago. 39; years.

The rock from the most recent study was discovered in Antarctica during the 1977-1978 mission of Japan's National Polar Research Institute.
