BOISE – Passengers using toilets aboard a Greyhound bus on April 10 between Salt Lake City and Boise may have been potentially exposed to hepatitis A.
The Central County Health Department of Ada County is asking cyclists who have used the bus washrooms to call 208-327-8625 as soon as possible to speak to the staff of the department. health, which will evaluate the risk of exposure, said Friday the health department in a statement.
Hepatitis A is a "highly contagious virus that affects the liver," according to the release. Bus passengers who have not used the toilet on board do not need to contact the health service.
Those exposed may be protected from the virus if they receive a hepatitis A vaccine by 23 April.
