How to assign nicknames on Facebook Messenger

1. Open a conversation with the contact you want to assign a nickname to.

2. Tap the information icon at the top right of the screen.

3. Select nicknames

4. Tap the contact name to enter a new nickname.

However, before you start editing the names of your contacts, keep in mind.

If you assign a nickname, the contact will see it in the chat history. Do not shock anyone!
