A man with measles may have exposed other people in Pierce and King

Health officials warned that a man with measles may have exposed other people in Pierce and King counties, including at an Orting School and at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport. .

The man, who is in his forties, goes back home.

It is unclear where the man contracted measles, a highly contagious disease that spreads in the air by coughing or sneezing.

The disease causes fever, rashes, cough, and red, watery eyes.

"Measles is a source of serious concern for anyone who does not benefit from immunity," said Anthony L-T Chen, health director of the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Department. "We urge these people to determine if they were in any of the places where they might have been exposed to measles."

Some of the sites include Sea-Tac Airport, Orting High School, Orting Transmission, Shooting at Skookum Bow, a Discount Tire Store in Bonney Lake, a SeaTac Service Station and the Soundy Lake Sound Medicine Family Medicine Clinic.

He visited these places from May 6th to May 11th.

Health officials said that if this man exposed you to measles, you will probably have symptoms between May 13 and May 31.

Symptoms usually begin seven to 21 days after exposure.

Infants and children under 5, adults over 20, pregnant women and people with weak immune symptoms are the most exposed.
