Heads up, the coffee falls. Drink all the beer you want, up to the 6th cup. It's the one that goes a bit too far, according to a new study from the University of South Australia.
Previous research has shown that drinking coffee was good for you – a 2017 study found that drinking four or more cups a day could reduce your risk of dying – and while this has not been denied, you may want to be stopping at five cups. The latest research has shown that drinking six or more cups a day increases the risk of developing heart disease by 22%.

Coffee, coffee, coffee
It's the caffeine that causes it – too much can make you nervous as a hummingbird – and cause high blood pressure, which in turn causes heart disease.
"Most people would agree that if you drink a lot of coffee, you might feel nervous, irritable or even nauseous – that's because caffeine helps your body work faster and harder. but it is also likely that you have reached your limit. for the moment, "said Professor Elina Hyppönen, a researcher at the University of South Australia, Australia Center for Precision Health.
The research is based on data collected from 347,077 adults in the UK between 37 and 773.
"We also know that the risk of cardiovascular disease increases with high blood pressure, a known consequence of excessive caffeine consumption," says Professor Hyppönen.
"In order to maintain a healthy heart and blood pressure, people must limit their coffee to less than six cups a day – according to our data, the critical point was the tipping point where caffeine began to have a negative effect on cardiovascular risk.
Do not worry, try decaffeinated later in the day. Or choose a nice decaf tea.
The study is published in American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.
