COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) – The night sky this weekend is illuminated by the full moon, a true "blue moon", inspired by the original definition of the former Maine Farmers almanac, appeared in the nineteenth century.
This weekend marks the third of the four full moons of the 2019 astronomical spring. Another popular, though technically not exact, definition of Blue Moon is the second full moon of a given month.
The moon will not look blue, of course, but will be big and orange again Sunday night in a foggy sky. The full moon on Saturday night was at 18:11. (EDT), but will stay very bright for a few more nights.
