The Maine CDC has confirmed a case of measles in the state. According to the CDC, the case involved a school-aged child from Somerset County. The child has been vaccinated, has not had any serious complications and is completely cured. It is not known where the child was exposed to measles. Those who are not vaccinated are encouraged to be vaccinated against MMR. This is the first case of measles in Maine since 2017.

On Tuesday, 880 cases of measles were reported in 24 states.
According to the Maine CDC, people who may have been exposed should check their immunization history and monitor symptoms. Those who are not vaccinated are encouraged to be vaccinated against MMR.
