In the United States, Google has set up its own mail-order repair center for Pixel phones for about eight months. In the rest of the world, however, Google does not offer anything like this, but instead directs customers to the drop-off and mail service centers recommended via an assistance page. These support pages have just been updated, indicating that official mail services will soon be available in several European countries.
Currently, Google lists 11 non-US countries on its support page for out-of-warranty repairs, with at least one repair recommendation for each. However, some of these repair centers are listed as being able to repair only certain pixel models. CTDi in France, for example, is only listed as being able to repair pixels 3, 3 XL, 3a and 3a XL. Fortunately, Google has just added its own name as "coming soon" to France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain and United Kingdom, and he will (obviously) be able to serve all models of Pixel phones.
It is unclear when these postal services arrive in these six countries, and "to come" is quite ambiguous. Nevertheless, it is good news that an official mail repair service is in place for Pixel owners in Europe.
As promised, Google has put its off-warranty repair service through the mail to Pixel owners in France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom.
In all of these cases, Google's own service replaces the mail options previously available via CTDi. Google supports repairs on all generations and all Pixel models, while CTDi offers were more limited.
This change seems to be a good thing in more ways than one, as readers say that they can not only save a lot of money compared to the old CTDI option, but that they do not have a lot of money. they are generally more satisfied with Google's work.
