Amazon is taking a step ahead of it with Motorola's next Moto Z4. The phone maker has not officially announced its latest MotoMod compatible device, but, as the note Droid LifeThis did not stop Amazon from briefly listing the Z4 on its website and offering it immediately for sale. You know where it's going. Someone managed to order the Moto Z4 and he appeared in the mail, accompanied by a 360 degree MotoMod camera that Motorola will apparently launch for free next to the phone.
According to the Amazon list, the Moto Z4 has a 6.4-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 2340 x 1080. Below, there is a built-in fingerprint reader. The Snapdragon 675 processor powers the Z4, which is newer than the recently released Pixel 3A 670 chipset. The Z4 includes 128GB of built-in storage (expandable with microSD), 4GB of RAM, a 3600mAh battery (with 15-watt fast charge) and a headphone jack. All other specifications can be seen here.
The Amazon page has been extracted, but unfortunately for Motorola, it remains accessible through the cache. This list concerns the "exclusive to Amazon" model of the Z4, preloaded with Alexa and several applications of the company. It will cost $ 499.99, and based on a screenshot, someone took it before Amazon removes the second list, the standard Z4, unlocked, will cost the same.
The buyer posted on YouTube an unboxing video with practical impressions. It seems generally impressed by the device, its aluminum construction and its screen, with a cutout in a semicircle. In terms of notch, this sounds pretty unobtrusive and is significantly smaller than what has been done on many other phones this year, including some Motorola phones.
A potential disadvantage is that the Z4 does not have a perfect fit with some of Motorola's MotoMods, which creates a gap between the phone and the easy-to-feel mod with the fingers. At the back, there is only one rear camera. Motorola has abandoned the depth sensor lens present on the Moto Z3 of last year. It also seems that the device provided by Amazon can run the pre-release software. "I can say that the software is still very buggy," wrote today the buyer on Reddit. "I'm stuttering and animating animations where I should not be. The camera software is also very buggy and the autofocus turns bad for taking pictures of close subjects. "
Since Amazon can already ship units, the appropriate announcement and exit of the Z4 should arrive very soon. It will fight against the Pixel 3A (which is almost certain to have a superior camera), the Motorola G7 series at the bottom of the list and devices like the OnePlus 7 Pro whose price is a few hundred dollars higher . But none of these other phones can still run on 5G networks, while the Z4 will almost certainly be compatible with the Motorola MotoMod 5G.
