Jupiter and his moons will be visible through binoculars all month – National News

Jupiter is putting on a show this month and we may be able to watch with nothing more than a pair of binoculars!

In its recap of June's sky events, NASA notes that Jupiter will be visible for most of the month. Several moons of the big planet can also appear.

June 10 is the date Jupiter reaches "opposition" when its orbit aligns to form a straight line with the Earth and the Sun, with the Earth in the middle. NASA says during this time, "the planet is visible in the sky all night".

In addition, it is about the time that Jupiter is closest to the Earth.
