After nine seasons, Lisa Vanderpump, television personality and restaurateur, officially leaves Bravo's reality TV show "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills".

Vanderpump, 58, confirmed she was out of the hit series on Thursday night when she received the Legacy Award at the seventh annual "Real to Reel: Portraits and Perceptions of LGBT in Hollywood".

When Los Angeles city councilor Mitch O'Farrell introduced Vanderpump to the event and called her a housewife, she publicly corrected it by shouting, "Not anymore!"

Vanderpump – who joined the show for the first time in 2010 – explained why she had decided to end her career in an interview with Extra after receiving the award.

"The last year has been a very negative year for me," she told the branch. "I feel we are moving forward. They had their resolution. I just had a horrible time with the show and the women. It was a very sad time in my life and it was not improved. I just decided to leave.

When Fox News contacted Bravo to comment on Vanderpump's departure from the series and the future of his spin-off "Vanderpump Rules," a spokesman said, "We do not comment."

The restaurateur ran into the cast of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" while filming last season.

The tension began after casting comrade Dorit Kemsley adopted a Vanderpump animal rescue dog and gave it away. The drama worsened when the women in the series accused Vanderpump of disclosing information to the media, which the animal rights advocate denied. In the middle of the season, she made fewer appearances in the series.

Vanderpump's friends confirmed to Fox News that she had not attended the recording of the season 9 meeting. Her friends also told Fox News that "the Vanderpump rules" – in which she plays the lead role and who also plays the role of executive producer – should "stay on Bravo".

Vanderpump had already hinted that she was not planning to attend the meeting.

"I have no desire to find the women who have been harassing me for 10 months now," she told "DailyMailTV" earlier this month.

Before the filming of Season 9 begins, Vanderpump lost his brother to suicide. PEOPLE said she had previously said she wished she had taken a break from the series after suffering the devastating loss.
