E3 is not limited to the games advertised, but the way they are announced. Every year, the main actors (with the exception of Sony, in this case) get on their respective scenes and do their best to impress us with their most explosive presentation that they can muster. 2019 is no exception. IGN has been watching them all anxiously and, although each of them has presented impressive games that have thrilled us for the coming year and changes to upcoming games and game-related content, here's how we thought all major conferences were classified, from the most exciting to the least.
How do you get players to swallow the bitter pill of a delay until March 2020 for Animal Crossing: New Horizons? Why not announce that you are working on a sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Wild Breath? Yes, it will do it. Nintendo Direct touched almost all the good ratings with its steady stream of ads, updated look and release dates.
Were there ever release dates! There is the remake switch of The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening on September 20th, Cadence of Hyrule with The Legend of Zelda on June 13th (coming soon!), No More Heroes 3 and a remake of Panzer Dragoon coming soon in 2020, Daemon X Machina on September 13th and Contra: Rogue Corps on September 24th. And let's not forget the totally unexpected Dark Crystal strategy game from Netflix called Age of Resistance Tactics, which should take place this year. It goes well with Empire of Sin, which is a gangster game at John Romero's XCOM, which should be released next year. Luigi's Mansion 3 has also appeared, but still has not managed to scare a release date.
We also saw a long list of ports that will please the crowd, including The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, complete edition in 2019, Resident Evil 5 and 6 arriving this fall, Dragon Quest XI S: Final Edition of September 27, Spyro the Dragon Trilogy. on September 3, Ni No Kuni on September 20, as well as The Sinking City, Alien Isolation and Super Lucky's Tale round out the opportunity to relive.

These four sites seemed fantastic and made slow building useful, but to reach them, we had to undergo some mandatory updates on Fallout 76 (which finally does what everyone said it should have been right from the start and add human NPCs to talk to) and a new Battle Royale mode, alongside The Elder Scrolls Online, which had already launched its Elswyer expansion but still offered us a cinematic trailer full of dragons. And there was also an announcement for The Elder Scrolls Blades that would arrive on Nintendo Switch, which would have been more exciting if the launch had been good on mobile devices. The restart of id's Commander for mobile platforms caused a cartoon noise, and a vague presentation of Orion, the integrated streaming software, was more confusing than exciting. And while the warm thanks of the Bethesda employees were nice, that's not really what we're here for.
Although, technically, the conference is not a traditional conference as much as a half-day live broadcast, the EA show started in force, with 15 minutes of play played by the highly anticipated action game of Respawn, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. But after that, there are no more surprises to follow. Aside from a brief overview of Madden 20 and FIFA 20 (which were all live images), the rest of the EA conference was devoted to existing game updates: preview of the content of season 2 Apex Legends (including Wattson, a new Legend character), a set of incoming Battlefield V cards, and the seventh expansion of the Sims 4, Island Living. Anthem, launched by EA just three months ago, was clearly absent, like Dragon Age: Dread Wolf Rises, or whatever. Although it was not without enthusiasm, it was a typical conference for EA. None of them, however, has been shown beyond conceptual art.
The new look at the gameplay of Final Fantasy VII definitely turned heads, but a disappointing revelation of the Marvel Avengers, which revealed no gameplay, was considered a balloon in the lead and people wondered what kind of game it would be when it was released on May 15th. 2020. The announcement trailer of Outriders, a cooperative shooter from People Can Fly, seemed interesting, but again, no gameplay was shown. There is also a third game from Tokyo RPG Factory, called Oninaki, and a downhill racing game called Circuit Superstars.
Apart from that, it's a slim choice: a remastering of Final Fantasy VIII, a remake of Romancing Saga 3, a portage of the Japanese game Vita Saga: Scarlet Grace and a remastering of The Last Remnant just released. The series ended rather abruptly and gave the impression of not having enough material to justify itself.
And while we love the crazy shenanigans Devolver does every year – including this behind-the-scenes review – the PC Gaming Show has certainly had some ads and even the showcase of UploadVR, but we limit ourselves to this ranking. now.
