FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) – A man from South Florida thought that he had signed a deal when he paid $ 9,100 at an online auction for what he said. He thought he was a villa. What he had, it's a strip of land of 0.3 meters by 30 meters (1 foot by 100 feet).
The land, valued at only $ 50, begins on a sidewalk and passes under a wall separating two villas in the community of Spring Lake, and is located at the back of the field.
A manager told Sun-Sentinel in South Florida that Kerville Holness could do nothing about his purchase.
Holness says that he was deceived. He added that the photos of the real estate appraiser related to the auction site show a villa on the parcel on which he had made an offer.
But the newspaper says that the appraiser's site and information on the county's tax site show no real estate value.
