A star, man
In February 2018, SpaceX launched a Tesla Roadster in the space, with a dummy dubbed Starman driving.
According to the Where Is Roadster? Tracking website, Starman has since traveled 1.2 billion kilometers (763.9 millions of miles) – and has now completed a complete orbit around the Sun.
Ongoing
The orbit took 557 days, which is long enough for the Roadster radio to interpret David Bowie's "Space Oddity" 151,151 times, which makes the asset incredible.
Starman is currently 298 million kilometers (185 million miles) of the Earth. But in November 2020, it will sail less than 32.3 million miles from its home planet. After that, the manikin will be removed from Earth until 2047 – assuming the Roadster withstands all the possible disasters that he might encounter in the cold depths of space along the way.
