A suspect is shot after fighting a police officer in California, shot in front of a camera.

The California sheriff 's deputies shot a man on Wednesday, while he was fighting with one of them and was trying to take his gun, investigators said.

The meeting took place shortly before 8:30 am in Victorville, 85 kilometers northeast of Los Angeles.

The deputy minister was answering a call in the area when she met the man.

Video Images captured the man who seemed to attack the MP before they both fell to the ground. The MP had his weapon in his right arm and fired twice in the air while she was on the back.

The suspect then appeared to seize the weapon and shoot in her direction while she was running. She was not affected, the investigators said.

The deputies who responded arrived a few seconds later and more than a dozen shots sounded. The trees in the video obstructed the suspect.

Mara Rodriguez, a spokeswoman for the department, told the Victor Valley News that the suspect was shot dead, taken to a hospital and then flown to a trauma center.

His condition was unknown. She stated that no MP had been shot and wounded. One MP suffered an injury unrelated to the shots.

Calls to the sheriff's department from Fox News were not immediately returned.
