The road to the Oscars starts at TIFF and, after the first weekend of the festival, it's already clear which films will pave the way for potential Oscar glory (and even box office).

What has changed since the last TIFF? Netflix and movie theater owners are still fighting between the beginning of a movie in theaters and the release date on the streaming service – a battle that has spread to a key venue of the festival, the Cineplex Scotiabank Theater, which screened no Nine Netflix titles have performed this year.
