Helmets maker Xenith has forged links with the Patriots catcher at war, Antonio Brown, this week, amid allegations that he allegedly raped his former coach, ending an agreement with a team. duration less than two weeks.
"Xenith has decided to end our relationship with Antonio Brown," the company said Friday in a statement. "We are looking forward to seeing the Xenith Shadow worn by football athletes at all levels of play this fall."
It is not known whether the company cut ties with Brown because of the allegations or because he wears a different helmet.
On September 4, Brown lost a grievance that he had filed for wearing an obsolete Schutt brand helmet. On the same day, Xenith announced its partnership, UPI reported.
Brown will now wear the Schutt Air XP model, reported NBC Sports.
Xenith has also made arrangements with Nick Chubb's halfbacks Cleveland Browns and Frank Gore of the Buffalo Bills.
Brown was charged in a lawsuit filed Tuesday for sexually assaulting Britney Taylor in 2017 and 2018.
Despite the charges, Brown was allowed to play for the Patriots game Sunday in Miami, as no criminal investigation has been opened on Taylor's claims, ESPN reported.
