NASA has released its annual images of the planet Saturn taken on Thursday by the Hubble Space Telescope, offering Earth's citizens an update on what is happening on the sixth planet in the solar system.
The image above includes impressive details in the planet's iconic rings where dozens of visible streaks lie, as well as an up-to-date look at the atmosphere with its gassy stripes and its hexagonal pattern persistent at the North Pole. The video shows that there was a big storm visible in the Saturn image of 2018 that has since faded.
A second video combines 33 images of Saturn taken over a period of 18 hours, representing a handful of dozens of moons of the planet in orbit.
In addition to these five moons, Saturn has 57 others. This does not include the hundreds of glasses that float in the planet's ring system.
The new images released on Thursday are part of NASA's OAPP (Outer Planets Atmospheres Legacy) project, which examines the atmospheric dynamics of giants in the solar system, including Saturn, Jupiter, Uranus, and Neptune, and helps scientists understand how they are evolving. the weather.
