The state’s total is 4,168. There are 417 active cases as of Sunday. 3,624 people have recovered. That number is eight from Saturday.

No new deaths were reported on Sunday August 16.

Looking at the county-by-county cases statewide, Penobscot County has the highest number of new cases, with seven more being reported.

There are currently 178 cases in total and 39 active cases.

There are four new cases in York County.

Cumberland County has three new cases and 197 active cases.

Kennebec, Knox, Oxford, Waldo and Somerset counties each have one new enclosure per room.

No new cases were reported in Piscataguis County, where seven active cases were reported on Sunday.

The Maine CDC is currently reporting two unknown cases.
