SpaceX launched its Falcon 9 rocket on Tuesday for a record-breaking sixth flight before successfully landing the vehicle on a drone in the Atlantic Ocean.
The success paves the way for a seventh possible use of the rocket thruster, in line with the company’s goals to land its thrusters and reclaim each half of the nose for partial reuse.
The Falcon 9 rocket lifted off from SpaceX’s launch site at Cape Canaveral Air Force Base in Fla. Around 10:30 a.m. EST Tuesday, launching 58 Starlink and three Planet SkySat satellites into space, The Verge reported.

Tuesday’s mission marked the 95th successful launch of SpaceX since its founding almost 20 years ago. During this period, the company landed rocket boosters 58 times and reused them for at least 40 missions.

The company said a Falcon 9 rocket costs around $ 62 million per launch, but reusing it can cut that price by more than half, CNBC reported.
