In accordance with the protocol, arrangements have been made for the transfer of these people to treatment at the respiratory hospital.

These new cases now bring the number of active cases currently in the country to 78.

All cases remain stable and there are no cases requiring intensive care.

The Department of Health continues to remind the public, in the interest of their health, that it is best to avoid engaging in social gatherings and activities that lend themselves to a greater risk of exposure to the virus.

The risk of transmission is greater when people come together in the same space.

It is with this reality in mind that the Ministry of Health advises the public to go out in public places only when necessary, in particular to work, to do business or to buy groceries or supplies for their households. .

By restricting movement to these activities, the risk of exposure to the virus will be reduced.

Continue to practice the guidelines daily which include:

  • washing your hands frequently with soap and water or using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer when hand washing is not possible
  • wear a mask whenever you are in public
  • keep a distance of six feet from others, about two arm’s lengths apart – see a doctor if you have respiratory symptoms such as fever, cough, shortness of breath, sore throat
  • avoid contact with people who have respiratory symptoms

The Department of Health and Wellness will continue to provide updates as new information becomes available.
