Five new cases of COVID-19 were reported today, bringing the total number of county residents who have tested positive for the virus to 658.
The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) today issued a travel advisory in response to the recent increase in the rate of cases statewide. The advisory strongly discourages non-essential travel and urges residents to stay as close to home as possible. Travelers arriving in California are urged to self-quarantine for 14 days, and anyone who leaves the county to another state or country is also expected to quarantine for two weeks upon his return.
Residents traveling out of the area and visitors from out of town heading to Humboldt County for rallies continue to be a big driver of local cases, according to Dr Josh Ennis, chief health officer of the Humboldt County. “The state’s travel advisory recognizes that our experience at the local level is similar statewide and further emphasizes that we as individuals need to make changes to slow the spread of this virus.” , did he declare.
