TAIPEI (Taiwan News) – After a passenger was forced to sign a document listing Taiwan as part of China on his travel history, the Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA) asked Cathay Pacific from Hong Kong to correct the wording, according to reports Friday, Dec. 18. .

A traveler wrote on Facebook that when he wanted to board a Cathay Pacific flight from Taiwan, he was presented with a document in which he had to mark the region he visited before arriving in Hong Kong , CNA reported.
The choice was between a high-risk area, a country outside of China, or “the area of China (including the interior, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan),” he said. The form, registered under number 599H, was supposed to provide information relating to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Although the document did not break any rules, as it was submitted to Taiwan, it should be amended, CNA said citing an anonymous source. The Cathay Pacific office at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport told reporters that it was not aware of the wording of the form and could not provide an example of the document.
