The Chicago Bears have named right tackle Bobby Massie to return from the injured reserve, meaning he can start training this week. That doesn’t necessarily mean he’ll be ready to play this Sunday against the Green Bay Packers, but if he shows the coaches enough, there’s a possibility he might be activated.
He injured his knee on Nov. 1 against the Saints, and Chicago Tribune’s Brad Biggs believes the best-case scenario for Massie would come if the Bears make it through to the playoffs.
The Bears also placed offensive lineman Badara Traore on the training team’s injury reserve, and to take his place on the practice team, they signed defensive back Sojourn Shelton.
Shelton, 25, was originally signed as a UDFA out of Wisconsin by the Arizona Cardinals in 2017. He has rebounded in the league since then and Chicago is his fourth stop.
Plus, in case you missed it, yesterday the Bears protected quarterback Tyler Bray from being fired.
