The Florida Department of Health said on Thursday it had found evidence of the first identified case of the UK variant of COVID-19 in the state.
The department said the man who tested positive was in his 20s and lived in Martin County on the Treasure Coast. He has no travel history, according to FDOH.
The ministry is working with the CDC on the investigation and said it encourages everyone to continue practicing COVID-19 mitigation.
“For now, experts predict little or no impact on the effectiveness of the COVID-19 vaccine,” the department tweeted.
