The county reported 26 deaths on Saturday, bringing the total number of reported deaths to 1,901. The most recent death on record was on December 26.

There were 501 patients listed in intensive care units on Saturday, as intensive care capacity shrinks in southern California. The percentages here have been adjusted by state public health officials to represent the high levels of COVID-19 patients among all intensive care patients. More real beds may be available.

An estimated 38,161 cases of the virus have been recorded in Orange County in the past 14 days.

The county update says 2,076,496 tests have been done for the coronavirus since testing began locally, with at least 23,385 new tests since the previous report.

Of the 1,901 cumulative deaths reported from the virus, 640 were residents of skilled nursing facilities, 183 were in assisted living facilities, and four were considered homeless.
