King was jailed on $ 15,000 bail, according to the New York Post. A suspicious man has not yet been identified and is still at large with the dog.
The puppy was taken to the Harris County Bully Kamp Pet Store Nov. 4. Video of the incident went viral after a pet store worker allegedly jumped on the hood of a car to try to stop the theft.
Employee Alize James, who is also 21, was working at the store when the couple walked in and began discussing financing options.
However, when James walked away to retrieve papers for a UPS driver, court documents indicate that the couple fled with the animal.
They were seen fleeing the scene on surveillance video, heading towards Interstate 45.
James, an animal lover, told KPRC – which first reported the incident – that the 7-month-old American Bully had just had surgery and needed special medication.
She allegedly chased the thieves into the parking lot and asked the couple to return the dog. The car then accelerated and was thrown on the hood.
The criminals threatened to run over James but continued to drive with her over the vehicle for 10 minutes.
James was miraculously able to hang on as they swerved, hoping to shake her off.
“I was clinging to my dear life,” she told KPRC.
The car finally stopped, but James’ problems weren’t over yet.

The suspect got out of the vehicle and attacked James – throwing her out of the car, punching her and scratching her face.
Although she fought back, the couple still managed to pick up the puppy.
