Humboldt County Joint Information Center press release:
A total of 2,171 county residents have tested positive for COVID-19, after 33 new cases were reported today.
All phase 1A health workers are encouraged to complete the health worker survey linked below to receive an invitation to a COVID-19 vaccination clinic. This includes people who work in health care or long-term care facilities, home caregivers and community health workers, including promotoras.
The form can be linked here: forms.gle/AFys9CLHFHYg5bcC6.
“If you’re a healthcare worker and haven’t been vaccinated yet, sign up now,” said Dr Ian Hoffman, Humboldt County health worker. “In order for us to move on to the next priority group, we need to complete immunization of health workers in order to open immunization clinics to other groups, including the elderly.
Humboldt County COVID-19 data dashboard updated to include ‘Unknown’ as an additional category for type of transmission, in addition to Contact for known case, acquired travel, community transmission and under investigation.
A person who has tested positive for COVID-19 will be assigned as an unknown if the person is:
- Unable to be contacted
- Do not return calls after the first contact
- Reluctant to cooperate with public health.
Cases which previously met these criteria were closed during investigation. Dr Hoffman said this new category will provide more clarity on the outcome of investigations.
“If your test is positive, Public Health is there to help protect you and your loved ones. It means we need to talk to you, ”Dr Hoffman said. “Please answer the call. Our contact investigators are there to help slow the spread of the virus, and that is obliging us all. ”
