Are you a Mainer over 70? Here’s how to plan for a COVID-19 vaccine.

AUGUSTA, Maine – Principals over the age of 70 can now book appointments for COVID-19 vaccinations at 18 sites statewide, the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention said on Monday, although the availability is limited depending on vaccine supply.

The announcement follows last week’s announcement that Maine would enter Phase 1B of its vaccine rollout, which is first expanding vaccinations to people over 70. People aged 65 to 69, those with certain pre-existing health conditions and certain essential workers will be eligible later in the phase.

The 18 sites announced Monday are all hospitals and are located in 11 of the state’s 16 counties. The counties of Kennebec, Lincoln, Piscataquis, Somerset and Washington are the five that do not have sites. The state said additional sites will be announced in the coming weeks.
