The Wisconsin pharmacist, accused of intentionally wasting hundreds of doses of the coronavirus vaccine, convinced the world was ‘falling apart’, told police he tried to ruin hundreds of doses of coronavirus vaccine because he believed the shots would mutate people’s DNA, according to court documents released on Monday.

PORT WASHINGTON, Wisconsin (AP) – Prosecutors have indicted a Wisconsin pharmacist on charges of spoiling the COVID-19 vaccine with property damage.

Online court records show Steven Brandenburg was indicted in Ozaukee County Circuit Court Tuesday. Police arrested Brandenburg on Dec. 31 as part of an investigation into 57 spoiled vials of Moderna vaccine at Advocate Aurora Health in Grafton, about 20 miles north of Milwaukee.

Investigators believe Brandenburg intentionally removed the vials from the refrigeration and did not replace them. Detectives wrote in court records that Brandenburg is a recognized conspiracy theorist and was convinced that vaccines would mutate people’s DNA.

The ruined vials contained enough doses to inoculate more than 500 people.

The Brandenburg lawyer declined to comment.
