OSHKOSH – More than 5,000 people aged 65 and over will be able to get their COVID-19 vaccine starting Monday at the Sunnyview Expo Center in Oshkosh.
The Winnebago County Department of Health has partnered with Ascension Wisconsin and the Wisconsin National Guard to host the vaccination clinic, which will open at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, February 1 at the Exhibition Center, located at 500 E. County. Y to Oshkosh.
Health officials plan to immunize 1,000 people every day during the clinic’s first week, Monday through Saturday, for a total of around 5,500 vaccines. The number of appointments beyond the first week will depend on vaccine availability, according to a press release from the health department.
Appointments during the first two days of the clinic will only be for those 75 and over. Starting Wednesday, those 65 and over will also be eligible.
The clinic will run from 1:30 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. Monday, then 9 a.m. to 4:15 a.m. Tuesday to Saturday.

Appointments are mandatory and online registrations will open at noon on Sunday January 31 for all people aged 65 and over.

Anyone needing help making an appointment should call the Winnebago County Health Department COVID-19 hotline at 920-232-3026 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The health department said those who are established patients in a healthcare system should follow their primary care provider’s instructions for getting vaccinated.
A vaccination clinic at the Fox Cities Exhibition Center in Appleton will also begin next week, but the 1,000 appointment slots for the first week have been reserved. Vaccinations at this clinic for residents of Outagamie, Winnebago and Calumet counties will begin on Tuesday.
Winnebago County Department of Health Director and Health Officer Doug Gieryn said vaccination of Wisconsinites 65 and older “will take several weeks.”
Even as more and more people begin to get vaccinated, the public should still wear masks, continue to distance themselves from society and wash their hands frequently, said Dr Tom Nichols, vice president of medical affairs at Ascension St.
Driving COVID-19 testing will continue at the exhibition center. Appointments are not required for testing. For more information on testing, visit www.co.winnebago.wi.us/health.
