More than 90,000 completed vaccine series as Iowa reports 35 more deaths from COVID-19

IOWA

(KWWL) – There were 713 new confirmed cases from 10 a.m. Monday to 10 a.m. Tuesday, according to the state dashboard, bringing the state’s total number of cases to 325,379.

The state’s website says that of the 325,379 people who tested positive, 296,440 have recovered. That’s 2,321 more recoveries than the state reported on Monday.

The state’s death toll stands at 5,145, 35 more than yesterday.

Subtracting the number of recoveries (296,440) and the number of deaths (5,145) from the total number of cases (325,379), there are currently 23,794 active positive cases in the state.

As of Sunday morning, 40 patients were hospitalized in Iowa in the past 24 hours and the total number of hospitalizations is 327, up from 318 yesterday. Among these hospitalizations, 67 are in intensive care (against 69) and 29 on ventilators (against 35).

In Iowa, 2,940 new tests have been administered in the past 24 hours, and a total of 1,498,143 people have been tested for COVID-19. The positivity rate for the last 24 hours (713 positive tests divided by 2,940 tests given) is 24.2%.

According to the state’s COVID-19 Vaccine Dashboard, 332,421 total doses were given to residents of Iowa and 90,540 people completed the series. As of Tuesday, 11,608 residents of Black Hawk County, 24,868 residents of Linn County, 26,740 residents of Johnson County and 11,283 residents of Dubuque County received the vaccine. BLACK HAWK COUNTY

Monday at 10 a.m. Black Hawk COVID-19 dashboard has 25 new cases since 10 a.m. Saturday, leaving a total of 15,520 cases (14,570 cases positive for PCR and antigen and 950 positive cases for serology). There were 111 additional recoveries, for a total of 13,345. There were two more deaths, leaving a total of 267 deaths. The 14-day average positivity rate for the county is 7.1%.

LINN COUNTY

Monday at 10 a.m. Linn County COVID-19 Dashboard has posted 40 new cases since 10 a.m. Monday, leaving a total of 18,930 cases. There were 59 additional recoveries, leaving a total of 16,649 recoveries. There was one additional death, leaving a total of 312 deaths in the county. There are currently 22 hospital patients in the county. The county’s 14-day average positivity rate is 9%.

JOHNSON COUNTY

According to state dashboard As of 10 a.m. Tuesday, 21 new positive cases were reported in Johnson County as of 10 a.m. Monday. This brings the total to 12,697 reported cases. There were a total of 11,704 recoveries, 66 more than yesterday. There were no additional deaths, leaving a total of 65 deaths. The county’s 14-day average positivity rate is 7%.

DUBUQUE COUNTY

According to state dashboard As of 10 a.m. Tuesday, 24 more positive cases have been reported in Dubuque County since 10 a.m. Monday. This brings the total to 11,998 reported cases. There were 68 additional recoveries reported, leaving a total of 11,020. One additional death was reported, leaving a total of 187. The 14-day average positivity rate for the county is 7%.
