The Southern Nevada Health District will begin offering second doses of the Pfizer vaccine this week at the Las Vegas Convention Center vaccination site.

The site only serves those who have received their first doses of vaccine at a site managed by the health district or one of its partners.

The interval to receive the Pfizer vaccine is no earlier than 21 days after the first dose. The district began administering the Pfizer vaccine on Jan.21, which means the first recipients of a first dose will need to receive a second dose on Thursday.

The site continues to offer second doses of the Moderna vaccine, which can be administered no earlier than 28 days after a first dose.

The site runs walk-in visits from 8:30 am to 2:00 pm, Tuesday through Saturday, or “depending on the capacity of the clinic,” the health district said in a press release Tuesday. The site is dedicated to the provision of second doses and does not provide any first dose.

The district will only take walk-in people who received their first doses at these sites or events: the health district on Decatur Boulevard, Cashman Center, Western High School, Jerome Mack Middle School, and immunization events hosted by Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, Henderson University and Touro.

The convention center site is located in zone C-1 of the hotel’s central hall. Parking is available on Paradise Road at Convention Center Drive.

Appointments for the second dose, when available, can be scheduled at https://covid.southernnevadahealthdistrict.org/vaccine/second-dose/.

People who have questions or need help making appointments can call the health district at 702-759-1900. The line is open during business hours, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
