The Pokémon Company has announced plans to host a special virtual concert featuring American rapper and songwriter Post Malone.
The show will take place on February 27 at 7 p.m. ET – also known as Pokémon Day, thanks to the release of the original Pokémon Red and Green games that will take place on that day in 1996. The trailer above teases a virtual version of Post Malone, presumably showing what he will look like during the concert.
“Taking place on Saturday, February 27 – better known as Pokémon Day – this event will be an online party not only for Pokémon fans but also for all music fans around the world. It will also serve as an activation for launch for the franchise. P25 music program. The Pokémon Company International has partnered with Universal Music Group to bring this concert and other musical surprises to life throughout 2021 as part of P25 Music. “
Pokémon’s 25th anniversary plans are expected to include the “biggest names in music,” and Katy Perry has also confirmed that she is partnering with the game’s biggest franchise.
