70 and over in Douglas County to register for vaccine
The Douglas County Department of Health has announced that people aged 70 and over can start signing up for the COVID-19 vaccine from 9 a.m. on Tuesday.
To register, go to the Douglas County Department of Health website and click the link in the large yellow box that says “Register for the COVID-19 Vaccination Appointment.” Those needing help over the phone can call the DCHD COVID-19 information line at 402-444-3400.
More Sarpy and Cass County residents eligible for vaccine on Tuesday
Residents of Sarpy and Cass County who were born in or before 1951 (70 years or older) will be able to make an appointment for the COVID-19 vaccination starting Tuesday, February 16.
Notification will be sent to those registered for updates through the county health department or a pre-registration survey across the state of Nebraska, according to a statement from the health district.
Vaccines will only be available by appointment.
Those with questions are asked to call 402-339-4334 and select option 1. This phone line will be open Monday to Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
To date, the Sarpy / Cass health department has reported 112 deaths from COVID-19. According to its COVID-19 dashboard, the health district is reporting 670 active cases and a 24.4% positivity rate on Saturday. SCHD has confirmed 21,305 cases of COVID-19, including 20,523 cured, since the start of the pandemic.
Douglas County reports 20.7% positivity rate, more cases
The Douglas County Department of Health has reported 315 new cases since Friday. Daily issue updates are no longer published on weekends. The total number of cases in the county since the start of the pandemic has now reached 62,745.
The 7-day moving average of reported cases is 108.
A 20.7% positivity rate was reported for the week ending Saturday. The positivity rate for the previous week was 20.6%.
No new deaths have been reported. The total number of deaths remains at 636.
Vaccination clinics
Douglas County
Until further notice, Douglas County Clinics will provide COVID-19 vaccines to eligible residents at the following times and locations:
- MAR / MAR – Christ Community Church, located at 404 S. 108th St., clinics will offer immunizations from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- WED / FRI – CHI Immanuel Medical Center, located at 72nd Street and Sorensen Parkway, vaccinations will be given from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- JEU / SOLEIL – Nebraska Drug Testing and Vaccination Clinic, located at 144th Street and Millard Avenue, immunizations will be given from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.
- SAT – Rasmussen Center at Creighton University, located at 702 N. 17th St., vaccinations will be administered from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Pottawattamie County
The COVID-19 vaccination clinics will be held on Friday February 12, 19, and 26 at the Mid-America Center.
County residents aged 65 and over are encouraged to register through the Pottawattamie County Vaccination website. Anyone needing assistance can also call the Aging Connection Zone agency at 712-328-2540 to register for an appointment by phone.
