BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Walgreens corrected its website after a technical glitch prevented Vermonters 65 and over from signing up for COVID vaccinations on Thursday.
Walgreens told Vermont officials they would be ready to start signing the Vermonters into that age group on Thursday. But as Vermonters began trying to sign up, the Walgreens website and phone system said people had to be 70 or older to make an appointment.
The company has since fixed the issue with its website, and those over 65 can now sign up for a date. Users may need to clear their web browser / cache or reload the page once it is opened.
The telephone system has not yet been repaired. Once properly updated, Vermonters will be able to call 1-800-WALGREENS.
You need an appointment for vaccinations at Walgreens, there is no walk-in appointment.
Walgreens received an unexpected dose increase of 4,300 from the CDC.
Vermont officials will open registration for the 65 and over age group on Monday at 8:15 a.m.
Kinney Drugs will also open their online registration on Monday.
Anyone who was previously eligible to receive a vaccine remains eligible and can book an appointment now.
