The American Football Federation’s athlete council impeached a member on Sunday after delivering a seven-minute speech littered with false statements and racist allegations at a recent meeting on the players’ right to protest.
In June, the federation voted 71% in favor of the repeal a 2017 policy require athletes to stand during the national anthem, after US Women’s National Football Team (USWNT) player Megan Rapinoe became the first outside of the NFL to join Colin Kaepernick’s kneeling protest.

MORE THAN HALF OF ELECTORS THINK AMERICAN SOCIETY IS RACIST: SURVEY
“Having held positions in senior teams, national youth teams and a national team player, many [of] the biggest names in our federation don’t agree with kneeling at all, behind closed doors of course, but they are ostracized for expressing their positions within the team or publicly, which I don’t be afraid to do. I deserved the right. I promised to keep their identity hidden, but how do you think this ultimately affects the culture and cohesion of the team and their performance. United, we are, divided, we kneel, ”said former US national and Paralympian captain Seth Jahn, who voted against the repeal.
In a statement, the council said it “wants to be unequivocal in its condemnation of the statements Mr. Jahn made yesterday” and that it “does not tolerate this type of language and finds it incompatible with membership in the advice”.

In his speech, the 38-year-old dismissed the issue of police brutality against black Americans as “a statistical anomaly” and cited a false statistic claiming to represent the “black on black crime”, which many critics consider a dangerous and racist myth. Much of his argument against athlete protests against police brutality and slavery centered on the idea that these issues are universal, saying “there is racism in every race” and “every race … was enslaved “. He also minimized slavery, falsely claiming that the United States was the only country fighting to end slavery (Mexico did it before the United States even did).
“I lived in Africa for two and a half years where I could buy people – slaves – between $ 300 and $ 800 per person per head, depending on their age, health and physique,” said Jahn, who has quoted his. “Mestizo,” claiming to represent the Aniwaya clan of the Cherokee nation and invoking his time in the military.
Rapinoe applauded the federation’s decision, calling it “perfect”.

“Seth is entitled to his own opinion – he is not entitled to his own set of facts, however, and I don’t think he should use said facts in a way that misinforms and obscures the real issues,” Becky said. Sauerbrunn, the current USWNT captain.
