42 new cases reported since Friday
Forty-two new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Humboldt County since the last report on Friday. The total number of county residents who have tested positive for the virus now stands at 3,308.
Four previously reported hospitalizations have been removed from the county tally. Although all four have tested positive for COVID-19, the reason they went to the hospital has been determined to be unrelated to the virus. Two new hospitalizations are reported today, so the cumulative total number of local hospitalizations related to COVID-19 is 133.
Public health using submission of interest forms to complete immunization appointments
Humboldt County Public Health will be hosting three large-scale COVID-19 vaccination clinics this week in partnership with local healthcare providers and plans to administer at least 2,300 doses. Appointments at the clinic are by invitation only. To complete the appointments, public health uses the information submitted via the online interest form based on the vaccination priorities defined by the state.

The state’s outdoor event performance guidelines take effect April 1
The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has issued updated guidelines to allow additional outdoor activities with COVID-19 safety measures in place.
Beginning April 1, outdoor sports and live performance venues will be able to reopen with fans and spectators in attendance, provided headgear is worn at all times. Some other required security measures include:
- Limited capacity based on county level allocation
- Visitors allowed only from the immediate area or California, depending on county level assignment
- Concessions ordered and served at headquarters, no lobby sales
- Places reserved and allocated in advance
- Workers and staff are tested weekly.
Amusement parks may also be reopened to state visitors for Red Level counties or better starting April 1. / statetierchanges.
The list also describes new, higher thresholds for level shifting under the “Blueprint” once 2 million vaccines have been distributed to communities hardest hit by the pandemic. The CRPD predicts this will happen in the coming days.
