SANTA FE – New Mexico state health officials on Monday announced 185 more cases of COVID-19. According to the state’s health ministry, the most recent cases are:

The Department of Health reported one additional death in New Mexico from COVID-19 on Monday:

A man in his sixties from Roosevelt County. The individual was hospitalized.

The death toll of New Mexico residents linked to COVID-19 is now 3,853.

The daily count of cases and the number of tests are raw data based on the information the state receives today – that is, data that has not yet been reviewed to identify potential duplicates or the late positives or negatives. The Department of Health has detected community spread in the state of New Mexico and is investigating cases with no known exposure. The agency reports that given the infectious nature of the virus, it is likely that other residents are infected but have not yet tested or confirmed positive. To this end, all New Mexicans have been instructed to stay at home, except for trips that are absolutely necessary for health, safety and well-being. These additional restrictions were enacted to aggressively minimize person-to-person contact and ensure the spread is mitigated. New Mexicans are strongly encouraged to limit travel to what is necessary for health, safety and well-being.

The New Mexico Department of Health conducts active positive patient surveys, which include contact tracing and specimens from symptomatic people who have been in contact with positive cases.
