A second photo shows Rudolph perched on a velvet chair in front of a cerulean background wearing an ethereal white robe and matching white floral crown, channeling his mother from the cover of his album “Adventures in Paradise”.
The official “SNL” Twitter account retweeted a fan who shared the mother-daughter photo side by side that looked like the album cover “Adventures in Paradise”. the Tweeter read: “Obsessed with all of Maya’s bumpers, but the tribute to her mom was GORG.”
Riperton died on July 12, 1979, at age 31, of cancer according to her obituary in the New York Times. Rudolph was only 6 years old when his mother, a beloved 70s singer, passed away.
